In a quest to foster environmental consciousness, on 15th, November 2023, SEPA conducted a successful seminar at Mbelei Secondary School. The event featured representatives Aneth Ndyetabula, SEPA’s Chairperson, and Swaum Athuman Kibira, the Secretary, accompanied by environmental educators Deogratius Mihale, Machungi, and the guardian of sustainability, Enock. Engaging with 100 students from different grades, including Form 1, 3, 5, and 6, the seminar proved to be an enlightening experience for both learners and educators alike. Throughout the session, participants delved into a profound understanding of environmental issues, discovering their roles in preserving the ecosystem.
As the seminar unfolded, students not only absorbed knowledge but also realized their responsibilities in actively contributing to environmental conservation. The transformative impact of the event was appreciable, as each attendee left with a new-found commitment to engage in meaningful actions to safeguard our environment.
SEPA’s initiative at Mbelei Secondary School stands as a testament to the power of education in shaping environmentally responsible citizens. The ripple effect of this seminar is expected to extend far beyond the school grounds, creating a generation of young leaders dedicated to nurturing and protecting our planet Earth.
