With grateful hearts and a warm welcome, on December 5th, 2023, the Mamba primary school administration received 90 tree saplings from the Sustainable Environmental Protection Allies (SEPA). Among them, 50 were avocado trees, and 40 were wild nut trees. SEPA brought not just the saplings but also a team of caring folks. The school’s head teacher, excited students, and some young boys from the Scouts (committed volunteers) at Mbelei secondary school all joined hands. With a mission of turning a big, space in Mamba into a lively green place. Together, we dug holes and planted each sapling with hope and care. The avocado trees are like sturdy guardians, which will offer shade for hot days and delicious fruits for everyone to enjoy at Mamba. The wild nut trees are the silent heroes, hugging the soil tightly to prevent it from erosion and keep Mamba’s surroundings safe.
The students learned how to nurture the earth, thanks to the guidance of their head teacher and the helping hands of the Scouts. Each little sapling symbolized a step towards a brighter, greener future for Mamba. Expressing gratitude to SEPA, the head teacher extends heartfelt thanks and assures that the school is committed to dedicating efforts towards educating students about environmental sustainability. This means they will focus on teaching the kids how to take care of the environment, so they grow up understanding the importance of protecting our planet. It is a promise to instill in the students a sense of responsibility for the world they live in, nurturing a generation that values and cares for the environment.
The way you raise a child is the way they will grow, just like the work SEPA did at Mamba’s primary school. This initiative helps students understand the importance of planting trees for environmental protection. By teaching them at a young age about nurturing the earth, SEPA is planting not just saplings but seeds of knowledge. These kids are like little gardeners, tending to a greener future. It is about more than just trees; it is about growing minds that value and care for our environment, ensuring that these lessons take root in the hearts of the students and flourish as they grow.
